Job Title: Events and Hospitality Associate 

Ministry/Department: Hospitality 

Reports to: Events and Hospitality Director 

Status: Full-time, non-exempt 

Supervisory Role: No 

Objective

The Events and Hospitality Associate is responsible for assisting the Events and Hospitality Director with the planning and execution of The Church of Eleven22® events. They will work closely with the campus Operation Ministers to ensure hospitality needs and resources are available for churchwide events and conferences.  

Key Responsibilities

  

  • Support Events and Hospitality Ministry with all tier-one event preparation
  • Assist with set-up/tear-down of all big momentum events (i.e. Easter, Beach Baptism, Saturated, Christmas Eve)
  • Assist Events and Hospitality Ministry with the planning and execution of events and conferences for The Church of Eleven22 staff - EXPO and Staff Retreat
  • Assist Events and Hospitality Ministry with purchasing items for churchwide events
  • Help create an event inventory management system to support Events and Hospitality owned events
  • Support campuses in building serve staff team and sustain healthy relationships 
  • Assist Operations Ministry with all Events and Hospitality requests for campus launches (i.e. FF&E purchases, Vision Nights)
  • Support campuses with all events that center around Eleven22’s annual vision
  • Coordinate Events and Hospitality Ministry campus launches
  • Coordinate Sunday campus hospitality needs at multisite campuses
  • Coordinate staff food during events at multisite campuses
  • Assist Events and Hospitality Ministry with master calendar and eSPACE (Facility and events management system)
  • Coordinate event vendor Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
  • Event logistics planning meetings with Events and Hospitality Ministry, campus Operation Ministers and central ministries to ensure execution of campus events
  • Work with and review landlord agreements for campus events
  • Vendor standards (multisite)
  • Supply standards/ordering (multisite)
  • Assist Events and Hospitality Ministry with supported retreats
  • Assist Events and Hospitality Ministry with execution of ministry owned events
  • Build serve staff to equip the saints for the work of ministry at our central offices and churchwide events
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Three years of experience in an events/hospitality environment

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with office hours Monday through Friday, with various weekend and overnight commitments for events and retreats as they are scheduled.  

The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as in an events environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. You will also be on your feet, setting up and tearing down events. You will be required to provide transportation as necessary for events and retreats within the region. 

Physical Demands

This is largely an active role. This would require the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, be on your feet for long periods of time and bend or stand as necessary. 

Ministerial Exception

The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook).
