Reporting to the Manager of Worksite Sales Development and Case Management, the Inside Sales Representative is responsible for developing relationships with recruited and prospective agents in a designated territory through proactive and reactive calling strategies.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Effectively fielding inbound calls and demonstrating expertise in product features and benefits and related sales concepts (includes knowledge of products, sales concepts, positioning within existing portfolio, relationship building, etc.)

  • Identifies and effectively executes upon cross-marketing multiple lines utilizing telephone sales opportunities

  • Represents Washington National and its product portfolio with enthusiasm

  • Motivates newly contracted agents to market Washington National products to their customer base in order to drive sales

  • Effectively conduct product, process and technology trainings via phone, webinars and some in-person

  • Makes proactive outbound contacts with existing agents in designated territory in order to develop a relationship with them and drive sales

  • Handles escalated service issues

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree highly preferred

  • 4+ years related experience with an emphasis on sales and life/health insurance

  • Demonstrated ability to work without supervision

  • History of setting goals and reaching them

  • Ability to overcome objections

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, MS Teams and other technologies

  • Active Indiana Life and Health insurance license preferred
