TITLE: Tax Accountant

 Our Finance Department in Carmel, IN and is seeking a Tax Accountant who will assist with the preparation of life and non-life company tax provisions and tax returns, tax account analysis, deferred tax accounting and the preparation of tax depreciation schedules.

This role provides an opportunity to gain knowledge, grow accounting skills, and will allow for future growth within CNO.

As a Tax Accountant your responsibilities will include:

  • Initial preparation of quarterly tax provisions for both life insurance companies and non-life insurance companies
  • Initial preparation of state and federal tax returns
  • Respond to inquiries by taxing authorities
  • Preparation of tax depreciation schedules and other tax account analysis
  • Analysis of invoices to determine tax deductibility of expense

   The Tax Accountant position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills

  Qualified candidates will have:

  • BS/BA in Finance or Accounting
  • One to three years relevant work experience
  • Proficient with Excel Accounting and fundamental tax knowledge
  • Preferred Experience with tax software such as Corptax preferred
  • Previous experience in the Insurance industry preferred
