CNO Events Marketing Dept. is hiring a MEETING PLANNER to assists with all areas of major company meetings. It is the Meeting Planner’s responsibility to plan, produce and finalize various company meetings (approximately 10 meetings ranging in size from 10-800 attendees) such as incentive trips, trade shows, sales meetings, other sales promotion events, and special events (Monumental Marathon).

As a MEETING PLANNER, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist Meeting Manager with all areas of large company meetings. Delegates work and tasks to Specialists as needed.
  • Plan, produce and finalize (approximately 10 events per year ranging in size from 10-800 attendees) by executing all areas of meeting production, site/venue research and selection, cost analysis of each meeting, attendee registration, travel coordination, correspondence with venues/attendees/speakers, activity registration, budget management, F&B/AV coordination, bill processing and payment, billing reconciliation and serve as main onsite meeting contact.
  • Coordinate with meeting hosts to analyze meeting needs and determine best possible and most cost-effective location/venue. Negotiate contracts with hotels/venues/restaurants/outside vendors for specific needs of each meeting that are in the best interest of CNO Financial Group and business unit specific events.
  • Coordinate with preferred travel agency to ensure smooth air transportation of attendees to the meeting location within the travel policy guidelines.
  • Participate in educational industry events to enhance knowledge of the industry and current industry trends, best practices, and safety protocols.
  • Presents to management before, during, and after each event.

The MEETING PLANNER position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Solid attention to detail. Good Analytical, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills; comfortable communicating with and presenting to Senior Management.
  • Must be highly organized and able to multi-task regularly.
  • Ability to lead and delegate work to other Specialists as needed. Familiarity with CVENT and Crowd Compass software experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 20-25% of the time (can vary by time of year).
  • The ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds, luggage and signage when packing up for events and on site.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or equivalent.
  • Requires a minimum of three years of experience in public relations departments and/or event planning.

Relocation Available: No

CNO Financial Group is pursuing a hybrid working model.  Our associates will have access to come into their affiliated Office (Carmel, Chicago or Philadelphia) up to 2 days/week, and work from home up to 3 days/week.  To ensure accessibility to our corporate campuses, we ask that candidates reside within a 60 mile radius of the position location.
