40|86 is hiring an Investment Research Analyst to thoroughly research recommendations and sell those recommendations throughout the organization.

We are a performance driven team of talented individuals who take a hands-on approach to investing and have a deep knowledge in a broad range of fixed income securities. We utilize industry leading investment systems, resources, and actively participate in capital markets.

As an Investment Research Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting in-depth fundamental credit research in one or more industries.
  • Identifying attractive relative value opportunities among different fixed income asset classes.
  • Assess risk within potential investment opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining detailed financial models for use in the investment decision process.
  • Monitoring existing positions through earnings calls, on-site visits, management discussions, and other industry contacts.
  • Interacting with other members of the investment team including Portfolio Managers and Traders to help facilitate an effective investment decision making process.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
  • 3-5 years investment experience
  • Strong Excel and database capabilities, SQL/VBA a plus
