The Senior Infrastructure Architect – Voice Services independently defines technology roadmaps that detail initiatives to enhance a secured scalable voice infrastructure. Develops plans for the ongoing support and governance of technology initiatives. Works independently on assignments requiring high technical complexity and coordination. Leads projects and has accountability for ongoing activities and objectives. May manage parts of enterprise-wide projects.

Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Is responsible for providing architectural oversight for enterprise telephony systems (Avaya-based) and applications. Develops roadmaps of the evolution of the in-scope infrastructure from current to future state. Identify, analyze, and recommend technologies for approval based on an understanding and business requirements. Facilitate improved delivery of proposed solutions, by identification and documentation of technical and architecture technology requirements to be executed by our third-party partner in a timely, cost effective, and integrated fashion. Work with implementation teams to assess and review the architectural implementation of systems and projects to ensure conformance with defined architectural standards. Solves specific implementation challenges while encouraging adherence to architectural and infrastructure standards. Analyze business and IT drivers to determine corresponding architectural impact.   Define specifications that conform to architectural principles and ensure standards are upheld and exceptions are managed. Document all architecture design and analysis work Work with peer architects in other areas to ensure clear lines of communication, common architectural and capability assumptions. Collaborates with business partners, software engineers, technology and operations leadership to advance business outcomes and architectural concerns. Works with third-party vendors and the Managed Services team to develop and implement technology solutions. Selects and evaluates software/hardware product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations. Verifies compliance with all technical requirements. Trains and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Architect-level knowledge of all aspects of campus and remote office voice and related systems. Extensive experience in developing solutions for domestic and international call center operations. Fully knowledgeable regarding legacy and modern telephony environments (VoIP, SIP, etc.) Specific background with Avaya CMS, AES, and Avaya Contact Center applications (CTI, workforce management, call recording, etc.) Experience working with and managing a variety of voice providers for enterprise solutions and projects. Can work independently with limited guidance. Has an understanding of the latest developments or changes of market conditions in the industry. Strong ability to develop solution patterns and architectural specifications and can work closely with other teams to implement them successfully. Strong knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards; knowledge of software/hardware evaluation principles and practices. Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements. Understands and comprehends the functions and capabilities of new technologies; estimates the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives. Has exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments. Strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork and facilitation. Strong written and verbal communication skills; good planning and organizational skills.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, or related computing major required, or equivalent experience. Typically, a minimum of five years of experience at an architect level, designing and implementing voice infrastructure solutions. Typically, has related industry certifications.
