The Senior Specialist, Audit and Compliance plays a critical role in supporting the Vice President of Audit and Compliance and the broader Controller’s group in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of CMI Media Group and Compas' audit and compliance programs. This includes managing aspects of ICFR (SOX), external financial statement audits, tax audits, WPP Group internal audits, and client audits. The role also encompasses the development and oversight of supplier compliance programs, ensuring thorough initial checks and ongoing monitoring.
Beyond audit responsibilities, the Senior Specialist contributes to establishing and maintaining a robust control framework for existing systems, developing compliant processes and products that align with business needs and regulatory requirements. This position demands a high degree of accuracy, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve audit and compliance objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure ICFR compliance with WPP requirements, working with control owners on design, implementation, and execution.
  • Support RCM maintenance.
  • Implement and maintain ICFR controls across Accounting, Client Finance, IT, and Product Development.
  • Support the VP in managing various audits, including deliverable management and auditor communication.
  • Support ICFR and ITGC control implementation, remediation, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Support ERP process compliance, ensuring ICFR and ITGC integration.
  • Proactively monitor, evaluate, and improve ICFR controls.
  • Manage audit deficiency remediation and reporting in the WPP GRC tool.
  • Support GRC reporting dashboard maintenance.
  • Support technical accounting white paper initiatives.
  • Support ICFR and controls training.
  • Assist with compliance documentation collation and review.
  • Prepare ICFR Segregation of Duty templates.
  • Collaborate with WPP audit and compliance teams.
  • Stay updated on WPP policies, industry regulations, and professional standards.
  • Support client audits.
  • Aid in audit toolkit design.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Someone on the path toward obtaining a CPA or CIA.
  • 3-5 years of relevant audit and controls experience.
  • Proficiency in using audit and compliance tools and software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of audit principles, standards, and regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant compliance requirements, including data privacy and security regulations.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
