Are you a visionary scientific strategist capable of turning complex clinical data into impactful Medical Affairs communication plans?

We are seeking a Strategic Director, Medical and Scientific Affairs to serve as a senior strategic leader within our organization. In this role, you will translate complex science into insight-driven, compliant Medical Affairs communication and engagement strategies.

Operationalizing our vision, you will lead client strategy, mentor cross-functional teams, and advance best-in-class Medical Affairs planning across a diverse range of therapeutic areas. As a trusted advisor, you will bridge the gap between deep scientific fluency and high-level business strategy, helping our pharmaceutical and biotech clients navigate complex therapeutic landscapes.

Responsibilities:

  • Medical Affairs Strategy: Design, lead, and execute evidence-based Medical Affairs engagement strategies aligned with both scientific and organizational objectives.
  • Client Leadership & Facilitation: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, leading high-level discussions, facilitating strategic workshops, and influencing key decisions.
  • Omnichannel Engagement: Plan and implement compliant, non-promotional HCP engagement strategies across digital, peer-to-peer, medical congresses, and field medical channels.
  • Insight Synthesis & Storytelling: Synthesize complex clinical data and market insights into clear, compelling strategic narratives and actionable recommendations.
  • Operational Leadership & Mentorship: Operationalize the EVP’s vision, mentoring internal teams and fostering a culture of excellence in scientific communications.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all strategies and deliverables adhere strictly to Medical Affairs compliance, MLR/PRC processes, and industry governance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Education: Advanced scientific or clinical degree preferred (PharmD, PhD, MD, MPH, MS) or equivalent depth of professional experience.
  • Experience: 8–12 years of progressive experience in Medical Affairs, scientific communications, MSL/Field Medical, or strategic healthcare consulting roles.
  • Environment: Proven experience operating successfully within an agency, consulting firm, or highly matrixed environment supporting pharmaceutical or biotech clients.
  • Scientific & Clinical Fluency: A deep working command of clinical data, therapeutic landscapes, and scientific communication, with the credibility to engage peer-to-peer with senior medical leaders.
  • Consultative Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead complex, consultative client engagements and manage multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Compliance Savvy: Strong foundational understanding of Medical Affairs compliance and regulatory guidelines.

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $120,000 to $210,000. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
