POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Mortgage Resolution Analyst III (Assumptions Focused Underwriter) will be responsible for examining, evaluating and pre-qualifying loan assumption requests. They will collaborate with CMG underwriters ensuring complete files are delivered for underwriting review, and with borrowers and assuming parties to gather all conditions needed to bring the loan to a clear-to-close state. This position plays a critical role in assisting borrowers facing important financial decisions by ensuring loan assumptions are processed accurately and promptly.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, includes not limited to:

 

  • Analyzes loans in accordance with loan origination income and credit investor guidelines.
  • Reviews loss assumption packages and identifies deficiencies in document requirements and generates notices to potential future borrowers with items needed to cure deficiencies.
  • Ensures that all required documents are accurate, complete and in compliance with regulatory requirements and investor guidelines prior to formal submission to CMG’s underwriting team.
  • Performs accurate data entry of loan assumption related information into company system.
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation and reporting of underwriting decisions and actions.
  • Communicates with potential future borrowers to gather required information and ensure information is communicated to them at critical loan assumption milestones.
  • Communicates with CMG loan officers to provide loan assumption status and other assumption inquiries.
  • Ensures a customer-centric approach in loan assumption efforts.
  • Resolves escalated customer issues and complaints related to loan assumptions.
  • Promotes a culture of empathy and understanding in dealing with distressed potential future borrowers.
  • Ensures compliance with State, Federal, Regulatory, and Investor Requirements and guidelines, maintains up-to-date knowledge of internal policies and procedures, and understands how requirement changes affect the operation.
  • Stays updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in loan assumptions.
  • Other projects and assignments as needed.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of previous experience with loan originations processing or underwriting, as well as loan assumptions.
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA loan assumption guidelines. 
  • In-depth knowledge of loan assumption strategies, underwriting principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Highly organized, reliable, and results-driven.
  • Ability to hustle, willingness to learn, and adapt quickly to working in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent leadership skills to lead and motivate a growing service operation.
  • Ability to engage with directors and managers to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a high performing team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct Reports: No

 

PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

This role operates in an ADA compliant office environment, utilizing typical office equipment and tasks including computer work. The position may involve partial stationary positions and moving throughout the day. Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines is required.

 

COMPENSATION: CMG pays a competitive hourly/salary range which ranges from $33.65/hr - $39.90/hr with no overtime ($70,000 to $83,000). Factors that affect hourly rate may include: experience and education.
