Description
The Compliance Specialist – State Exams works as a regulatory liaison for federal, state, and agency examinations assisting with the fulfilment of all corporate external affairs and information requests. This position coordinates with all levels of management in a collaborative manner than minimizes interruptions while upholding confidentiality. Compliance Specialist assists with change management and issue management to implement correct actions and due diligence reviews to mitigate findings and minimize risks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Engage with the various departments for the collection of data and fulfillment of external audit requests. Review and follow up with other departments to obtain documents and information in a timely manner.
- Monitor and track all External Audit Requests. Update and maintain records of each audit, exam, certification as materials received and provided.
- Ensure deliverables to all external requests are accurate and the presentation of such information is orderly, professional, and complete.
- Develop corrective action plans with the business owners, monitor the implementation and test remediation.
- Draft responses to examination to rebut findings or to assure remediation.
- Collaborate professionally with CMG business management and external parties.
- Assist in gathering, archiving, and maintaining business records while ensuring documents are authorized for dissemination both internally and externally.
- Maintain the ability to be entrusted with sensitive and confidential information.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have 3+ years of experience as Compliance Analyst, External Auditor, Regulatory Examiner or Regulatory Liaison experience in the consumer financial industry.
- Highly prefer experience with the State Examination System.
- Prefer project management and issue management skills.
- Ability to influence others outside of direct reporting relationships, both verbally and in written communications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced fluid environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of all lending channels.
- Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.
- Develop and maintain basic knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations affecting Consumer/Mortgage Lending.

PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Standard office environment, equipment, and tasks, including work at a computer terminal. Fast paced and deadline driven environment Employee must be open to work overtime to complete assigned tasks.
Base Compensation Information
CMG pays a competitive salary which ranges from $70,000 - $80,000. Factors that affect salary may include: External Audit experience , State Exams experience, overall knowledge of mortgage industry, number of years worked in mortgage industry, computer skills, customer service experience specific to working with mortgage lenders, and education.
