CMG Financial has an opportunity for a seasoned Event Manager with multiple years managing and executing large-scale corporate events with upwards of 1,000 attendees.  The Event Manager is a highly skilled professional in the hospitality and event industry who will oversee the planning, coordination, execution, and post-event analysis of company events.  They will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, partnering with both internal and external partners with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.  This candidate will be a well-organized team player who is accountable for fulfilling all responsibilities as they relate to the Events Department, as well as having a high level of communication skills and attention to detail. 

 

The Event Manager is in charge of all aspects in the management of each event, such as, venue selection, budget creation/modeling, negotiating contracts, arranging vendors, design concepts, logistics, communication, follow through, meeting deadlines, and ensuring the company’s satisfaction for all hosted events.  They will also be responsible for managing the Events Team along with the internal processes and procedures under the department’s umbrella.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, includes the following responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Complete ownership and accountability in the planning and execution of company events.
  • Manage all aspects of event operations and logistics end to end.
  • Continue to develop and maintain event project plans, policies and procedures, along with standardizing event protocols.
  • Understanding the requirements for each event, design strategic framework around how to execute and remain within budget along with sticking to time constraints and keeping all stakeholders in the know and on track.
  • Determine and build out budgets by event, and provide detailed reporting and accounting before, during and after each event.
  • Proactively schedule and host event progress meetings with Senior Leaders and Executive Management.  These meetings should be thoughtful, highly organized, and include presentations with high-level overviews along with open items for discussions or decisions to be made.
  • Regularly meet with vendors and any internal or external stakeholders to keep all tasks on track.
  • Research vendors (venues, catering, transportation, decorators, production, musicians, gifting, etc.) and present the best combination of quality and cost to be decided upon by Management.
  • Lead and manage the Events Team
  • Build long-term, value-based relationships that enable achievement of company objectives.
  • Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable term in conjunction with Management’s oversight. This includes all contracts and vendors needed for a successful event.  Look to establish contracts for multi-year use for added cost efficiencies.
  • Analyze results post-event to measure effectiveness and how to optimize for future events.
  • Ensure and complete final checks and rehearsals for all events to ensure everything meets company standard.
  • Planning ahead for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event.  Identify and mitigate any potential risk to the company.
  • Communicate directly with Senior Management and the Executive Team throughout the event planning process to learn requirements and goals.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures and provide recommendations on how to improve events specific policies.
  • Work inside of the Events Team Inbox and respond to all inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the event project tracker, folder system, follow ups, project plans, OneNote, etc.
  • Other projects as assigned by Management.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • Proven written and verbal communications skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Capable of working with internal and external teams and partners.
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate subordinates.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating successful corporate events.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office and a high-level technical skills.
  • Excellent vendor management, budgeting, and logistics skills.
  • Competent in executing delegated tasks, communicating progress, and working proactively.
  • Ability to travel.

Direct Reports:    1-2 full time employees

 

PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Standard office environment, equipment and tasks, including work at a computer terminal.  This position requires partial sitting and walking throughout the day.  Employee must be open to work overtime to complete assigned tasks.

 

CMG pays a competitive base which ranges from $90,000 - $120,000. Factors that affect base salary may include: Event Management experience, overall knowledge of mortgage industry, number of years worked in mortgage industry, computer skills, customer service experience specific to working with mortgage lenders, and education.
