Staff Accountant
Description
CMG Financial is hiring 2 Staff Accountants to perform daily accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
Prefer candidates who can work onsite at our Corporate Office in San Ramon, CA. But open to good remote candidates as well.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following responsibilities, but not limited to:
- General Ledger Maintenance: Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist with processing invoices, payments, and collections.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Month-End Close: Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and maintain organized records.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, FloQast, Concur).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Financial services or mortgage banking is preferred.

PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
This role operates in an ADA compliant office environment, utilizing typical office equipment and tasks including computer work. The position may involve partial stationary positions and moving throughout the day. Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines is required.
CMG pays a competitive salary which ranges from $60,000 to $80,000. Factors that affect salary may include: Accounting experience, knowledge of mortgage industry, computer skills, customer service experience, and education.
