 About the job

The OTTO Motors division of Clearpath is looking for a Test Developer to work in the Fleet Software Group.

The Fleet Software Group is responsible for the design, development, and support of the Fleet Manager and software applications that allow our users to interact with, monitor, and support their fleets of OTTO Autonomous Vehicles. This involves participation in the entire product workflow, from customer insight gathering, problem definition, solution proposals, application design, development, and support.

For this role we are seeking an individual to develop, monitor & maintain automated test suites for web applications managing Fleets of virtual or physics simulated autonomous vehicles. You will be working closely with other members of the test, continuous integration, simulation & Fleet software development teams as well as many other groups within OTTO Motors, in order to provide awesome solutions to the problems our customers need to solve with their fleets of autonomous materials transport vehicles.

Responsibilities:

    • Designing test campaigns and documenting test results. 
    • Executing tests for full system, component, simulation and performance.
    • Capturing issues and artifacts, establishing a strong feedback loop back into development.
    • Supporting continuous integration tools, and infrastructure.

Skills and experience:

    • Experience in software development or test automation in an enterprise environment.
    • Diagnosing and narrowing down the source of issues.
    • Understanding web technologies and concepts such as REST API, WebSockets, client-side rendering. 
    • Working with Linux/Ubuntu based environments and scripting (bash, python).
    • Using continuous integration (Jenkins, gitlab ci) and source control (git).
    • Experience with OPC-UA and tools such as FactoryTalk Optix for industrial automation.
    • Exposure to container orchestration & tooling (.e.g Kubernetes, Helm).
    • Working in a collaborative environment, interfacing with other team members regularly, sharing knowledge via diagram, discussion, and example.

Bonus Points For:

    • Experience with web development technologies (React/Redux, npm, webpack).
    • Exposure to databases (Postgres).
    • Exposure to ROS / Robotics Systems.
    • A memorable story on breaking software.
