Classification Summary:

Individuals in this position will be responsible for development, database administration, data retrieval and analysis within the organization.  A significant portion of time is spent building internal customer relationships, developing queries, reports, and scripts that meet the business needs of the Cooperative, as well as, assisting in the administration of Clay Electric’s broad datasets.

 

Work requires broad information technology skills and specialization in at least two of the following areas:  business intelligence, database management, development of applications and interfaces.

 

Work is performed under the general direction of the assigned ICT Supervisor or Manager who reviews work performed based on the Essential Job Functions.

 

Essential Job Functions

  1. Query Development, Design, and Tuning. Develops database queries in multiple languages used at the Cooperative that includes analyzing queries to ensure optimum performance. 
  2. Business Intelligence (BI) Reporting. Works with internal customers to define their reporting requirements, determines the best reporting method to meet those requirements, develops the reporting solution and provides support of that solution over time. 
  3. Interface Development. Develops integrations between various data sources and applications used by the Cooperative. 
  4. Database Administration. Ensures the Cooperative’s databases are properly secured, managed and maintained for on premises and cloud solutions. 
  5. Solution Development. Implements custom solutions, applications and automations as needed for the success of the Cooperative. 
  6. Solution Support. Provides support of the Cooperative’s BI, database and application solutions as needed.  
  7. Communications. Serves as a liaison between users, administrators, technical experts and vendors as necessary.  Able to distinguish between and communicate with a user, application, database, or system level event or action. 
  8. Technical Documentation. Writes documentation and technical procedures for applications such as, but not limited to, interfaces, reports, forms, and workflows. 
  9. Safety. Practices safe work habits in the performance of all job duties and is familiar with and follows those portions of the Cooperative Safety Manual that pertain to the position
  10. Other Essential Duties.  Each employee is responsible to perform other duties as required to benefit the Cooperative and its members, includes responding to and/or assisting in emergency situations.

     

    Minimum Training and Experience:

     

    This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or a related field, plus one (1) year of business intelligence, database administration or applications development experience.

     

    Substitution:

     

    Related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

     

    This position requires certification as a Microsoft Associate or a related certification to be obtained within twelve (12) months from date of employment.

     

    Individuals in this position must maintain a valid State of Florida driver's license.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

     

    Skilled in the use of Microsoft Productivity Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, etc.)

     

    Skilled in common query languages, such as T-SQL, PL-SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.

     

    Skilled in generating reports using standard Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools, such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, Power BI etc.

     

    Ability to generate ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) packages and processes using standard ETL tools, resources, and best practices such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Pipelines.

     

    Ability to develop scripting and automation tasks, using tools such as Power Platform, PowerShell, Windows Batch Files, Python, Bash etc.

     

    Ability to develop applications using Low/No-Code platforms or traditional programming languages such as Microsoft Power Apps, C# .NET, and Python.

     

    Working knowledge of database monitoring and management tools such as SentryOne, Activity Monitor, SQL Trace, SQL Server Logs, etc.

     

    Working knowledge of applications interfaces such as SOAP Web Services, Rest API, JSON, XML, CSV, etc.

     

    Working knowledge of the administration of database technologies such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.

     

    Working knowledge of database structure and design, such as relation, non-relational, OLAP, etc.

     

    Working knowledge of data protection and privacy best practices.

     

    Ability to communicate technical information to users.

     

    Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

     

    Ability to work with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities and achievements.

     

    Ability to prioritize multiple requests or projects that may have competing priorities and complex dependencies.

     

    This position requires working outside of normal business hours to meet deadlines and respond after hours on a rotation basis to respond to critical issues.
