Classification Summary:

 

A mid-level professional position in the technical field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

 

Individuals in this position are responsible for deploying and supporting Clay Electric related technology systems and solutions.

 

Work is performed under the direction of the Division Manager or Chief Information Officer who reviews work performed based on the Essential Job Functions.

 

Essential Job Functions:

1.Supports Management.  Provides consultation to management and stakeholders on current initiatives as well as potential impacts to other systems or initiatives.  Contributes to the department’s efforts to proactively deploy the right technology-based solutions to maximize value to Clay Electric’s members and users.

 

2.Supports UsersProvides support and training for users of computer network hardware and software.  Responds to critical system down situations on a twenty-four (24) hour basis.

 

3.Communications. Asks questions and listens to users in order to find out the issue, explains the problems and solutions in a clear and understandable way.  Looks for and takes opportunities to communicate with other employees on ways to take advantage of technology to increase productivity and member satisfaction.

 


4.  Supports Systems. Installs and maintains hardware and software components related to operation of Clay Electric’s systems and networks.  Identifies, analyzes and isolates problems. Maintains and repairs technology or assists in obtaining maintenance and repair service. Performs as subject matter expert for the systems assigned.

 

5. Supports Projects. Responsible for the deployment and support of minor technology projects and provides support for major technology projects.

 

6Supports Applications. Responsible for resolving end user application and basic system application issues.   Performs as subject matter expert for the applications assigned.

 

7.Supports Team. Establishes and maintains good communications and provides technical support to other employees throughout the cooperative. 

 

9Analyzes. Analyzes existing work processes and systems and recommends improvements.  Implements approved improvements utilizing project management methodology. 

 

10.Safety.  Practices safe work habits in the performance of all job duties and is familiar with and follows those portions of the Cooperative Safety Manual that pertain to the position.

 

11.Other Essential Duties.  Each employee is responsible to perform other duties as required to benefit the Cooperative and its members.

 

Minimum Training and Experience:

This position requires a two (2) year college degree from an accredited college or university and  three (3) years of experience with an enterprise-class information system.

Substitution:

Related experience may be substituted for required education on a year for year basis.

 

This position requires completion of a Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) or equivalent certification within 6 months of employment.

 

Individuals in this position must maintain a valid State of Florida driver's license.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

Prefer experience with Microsoft Productivity toolsets (Microsoft Office, O365, Skype, SharePoint, Teams and Visio) and Microsoft Database toolsets (Access, SQL Server).

 

Technical knowledge of major enterprise systems commonly used by large electric cooperatives.

 

Ability to initiate the introduction of work process improvements, new automated facilities, packages and tools to provide more efficient business operation for the Cooperative.

 

Ability to maintain multiple projects and priorities at one time and effectively finish projects in a timely manner.

 

Prefer experience with Microsoft Windows Server operation systems deployment and support.  Including hardening of systems, troubleshooting systems issues and recovery. 

 

Prefer experience with Microsoft Windows server services deployment and support.  Including but not limited to; Active Directory, Group Policy, Internet Information Services (IIS), DHCP, DNS, Terminal Services, Hyper-V Clustering and File Services (DFS, FTP, etc.), Exchange, etc.

 

Prefer experience with Microsoft Windows workstation operating systems deployment and support.  Including hardening of systems, troubleshooting systems issues and recovery. 

 

Prefer experience with Linux server operating systems deployment and support. Including hardening of systems, troubleshooting systems issues and recovery. 

 

Prefer experience with Terminal Services, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and Virtualization solutions.  Including but not limited to Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenApp, etc.

 

Prefer experience with storage solutions commonly deployed in enterprise server environments.  Including but not limited to Storage Area Network (SAN), Direct Attached Storage (DAS), Network Attached Storage (NAS), etc.

 

Prefer experience with network deployment and support of enterprise class equipment.  Including but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, etc.

 

Prefer experience with database deployment and support.  Including but not limited to Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle 12, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.

 

Prefer experience with hardware and software firewall configuration and support.

 

Ability to give and receive communications with a wide range of employees at all levels. It requires a high degree of accuracy and precision.
