Description:        

The Controller will be a hands-on leader managing all aspects of accounting operations including General Ledger, Payroll, Labor, Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury and Audits. 
This key role will collaborate with the CFO and the leadership team to streamline accounting functions, establish accounting policies, procedures and controls to support Clarity’s mission and goals.
 
Responsibilities
  • Establish and lead month-end, quarterly and year-end close processes to ensure financial statements are timely and accurate
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance with GAAP, FAR and CAS
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage, train and mentor Accounting Department staff
  • Coordinate with contracts, program finance and operations to ensure Unanet data is setup accurately
  • Manage Indirect rates pool structure and prepare incurred cost submissions.
  • Manage Unanet ERP administration and liaison with technical consultants
  • Perform financial risk assessments and recommend best practices and tools for process improvements, internal controls and efficient accounting operations
  • Exercises sound judgement and operate with a high level of integrity
 
Qualifications
 
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or accounting in Government Contracting industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
  • Active CPA
  • Substantial Unanet experience required; SME level preferred
  • Knowledgeable in FAR, DFAR and CAS
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; Experience supervising team
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be responsive, collaborative and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with Paylocity, ADP a plus
  • Experience with Private Equity backed companies and integrations a plus
  • Work Location is hybrid Remote, Columbia MD or Herndon VA
