Position Overview:
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for monitoring and maintaining accuracy of warehouse inventory records and
ensuring products is properly stored and accounted for. This position will take steps to verify product accuracy, identify
discrepancies, and correct errors to minimize any associated risks and promote operational productivity. In addition,
the Inventory Clerk will execute processes that ensure compliance to requirements for managing non-conforming
products (e.g., damage, quality holds).

the Inventory Clerk will execute processes that ensure compliance to requirements for managing non-conforming
products (e.g., damage, quality holds).
Shift: 2nd Shift (M-F 2:30pm-11;00pm)
Pay: $21.52-24.64/hr
Position Responsibilities
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to verify stock levels and locations. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between physical counts and system records
- Accurately input inventory data into our warehouse management system (WMS). Maintain and update inventory records, ensuring data integrity
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to inventory transactions, including receiving reports, shipping documents, and inventory adjustments
- Assist with receiving incoming shipments, verifying quantities, and inspecting goods for damage. May also assist with order fulfillment and shipping processes as needed
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. This may include labeling, stocking, and storing items in their designated locations and free of recognized hazards.
- Identify and report any inventory issues or concerns, such as stock shortages, damaged goods, or obsolete items.
- Propose solutions to improve inventory control processes
- Perform both Product and Location Checks in all areas of the warehouse and reconcile discrepancies
- Identify and address the root cause of recurring inventory issues
- Support and assist in initiatives to improve inventory accuracy
- Ascertain the location and status of inventory discrepancies through systematic inquiry within the WMS
- Manage damage and recoup process to ensure all damaged/defective product is accounted for and properly handled by either dumping, salvaging or returning to stock and properly recorded
- Identify, segregate, and track items placed on quality hold
- Initiate and document the approved disposition of quality hold items
- Execute inventory transfers to support production, order fulfillment, and other operational needs.
- Assist with other miscellaneous warehouse responsibilities.
- Operate powered industrial trucks (forklift, reach truck, electric pallet jacks, scissor lifts)
- Adhere to all warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
- Education: High School Diploma/GED equivalent required
- Attention to Details: High level of accuracy and precision in data entry and record-keeping
- Organization: Ability to maintain order and track multiple items simultaneously
- Math and Analytical Skills: Comfortable with basic calculations and able to identify discrepancies in data
- Communication: Effective written and verbal communication for reporting findings and coordinating with colleagues
- Technology: Proficient with basic computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word) and comfortable learning new software (e.g., warehouse management systems) Previous AS400 and/or warehouse management systems (WMS) experience preferred
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Lifting: Ability to lift and move boxes or items of moderate weight (usually up to 50 lbs.)
- Mobility: Required to climbing ladders, operating warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift, reach truck, electric pallet jack, scissor lift, scanners)
- Knowledge of Inventory Control Principles: Familiarity with concepts like FIFO (First-in, First-out), cycle counting, and stock rotation
- Adaptability: Warehouse environments can be fast-paced, so the ability to adapt to changing priorities is important
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with other warehouse staff
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies is crucial.
- Safety Consciousness: Adherence to warehouse safety protocols is a must
- Oral and Written Comprehension: Ability to understand both spoken and written instructions.
- Investigative skills: Ability to gather information and perform root cause analysis
