Position Overview:

 

The Continuous Improvement Lead will support the implementation and execution of the CJ Logistics Operating System to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability, and maximize service and profitability.  This role will collaborate with internal and external customers to analyze current performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and establish action plans to optimize performance.  They will utilize lean techniques and thinking.  They will motivate others and drive continuous improvement by being a change agent who leads by example.

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and sustained execution of the CJL Operating System within existing and new Logistics Center Operations.Lead assessment and integration of customer business requirements with the CJ Operating System;  ensure proposed solutions fit in terms of quality, functionality, and overall integrity, and done so in a cost-effective way.
  • Develop and document recommended business process design solutions with the mindset of reducing complexity and creating universal standards.
  • Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop strategies that improve overall organizational effectiveness and capabilities, and contribute to organizational scalability and sustainability.
  • Provide support for continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean principles to drive operational excellence and improve profitability.
  • Engage with customers and internal leadership to critically and creatively solve problems and drive successful performance. 
  • Provide support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement efforts in a manner that achieves buy-in from all levels of employees and facilitates effective and lasting change.
  • Create and maintain process and project documentation for reference and training purposes.
  • Effectively communicate insights, project status, risks & opportunities to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work.
  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Warehousing, or Transportation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to document details.
  • Hands-on, practical problem-solving and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and analytical.
  • Capable of being a strong team member while able to manage your own priorities.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time with flexibility to travel up to 75% at times.
  • Stand and walk in a warehouse environment that is not climate-controlled for hours at a time.
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends when traveling.
  • Experience with Tier 1 WMSs, especially Blue Yonder is preferred
  • Experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma is preferred
  • Experiences in utilizing Change Management techniques is preferred
  • Ability to motivate teams and drive improvements within a tight timeframe
  • Validated skills in meeting/workshop facilitation and collaboration, including the ability to drive alignment and decision-making
  • Ability to summarize detailed requirements into a digestible, fluid message that can be tailored for multiple levels of the organization
  • Capable of being a strong team member while able to manage your own priorities
