Facilities Manager / Cold Storage
Position Overview:
The Cold Storage Facilities Manager (FM) is responsible for the comprehensive, hands-on management of the daily facility and maintenance. This role focuses on a broad spectrum of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/ R Systems. The FM will work independently ad collaboratively, following detailed instructions while effectively navigating a cross-cultural dynamics in the workplace.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Basic computer skills, including email management, video conferencing, digital calendars and software for word processing, spread sheet and presentations.
Ability to work a rotational schedule.
- Oversee all aspects of the building operation and maintenance, including expertise in Plumbing, HVAC/R, cold storage, power, and electrical systems.
- Operate and maintain facility systems, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Efficiently diagnose and resolve issues, leveraging mechanical aptitude and creativity.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, service providers and management.
- Proficiently use computer platforms and technology to manage and document facility operations.
- Adapt to the needs of the business demonstrating flexibility in handling additional responsibilities and managing multiple priorities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years of proven experience in building operations and maintenance.
- Expertise and/ or certification in one or more areas. Such as Plumbing, HVAC/R, cold storage, power, or electrical systems.
- Strong mechanical background with excellent problem solving and decision making abilities.
- Familiarity with food processing and refrigeration is a plus
- Professional education, licenses and certifications that demonstrate increasing responsibility and expertise.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or High School Diploma / GED with relevant trade certification.
- Team oriented with the ability to work independently while exercising good judgment.
