    As the Transportation Finance Analyst, you serve as the financial pulse of the transportation network. This role is designed for a professional who thrives on bridging the gap between complex data and real-world operational performance. You are a key collaborator working alongside Carrier Management, IT, Brokerage, and Operations to build and enhance the very systems that drive our daily success.

    • Financial Integrity & Compliance: You will take full ownership of the customer and carrier invoicing cycle, ensuring 100% alignment with contractual lane rates while proactively resolving disputes and past-due accounts.
    • Strategic Reporting & Forecasting: You will drive business intelligence by delivering monthly financial results, conducting variance analyses, and assisting in the creation of critical company and customer budgets.

    • Process Architecture & Documentation: You will champion a continuous improvement mindset by developing comprehensive process documentation and refining the effectiveness of the customer invoicing function.

    What You'll Be Accountable For

    • Assist the TransFinance Managers in customer and carrier invoicing/audit and provide monthly reporting and analysis to both internal and external customers.
    • Ensure that customer invoicing complies with current contractual agreements, including specific customer lane rates and accessorial charges.
    • Identify root causes for recurring system issues and develop/implement timely and practical solutions.
    • Develop and maintain a continuous improvement mindset with respect to the quality, efficiency, and overall effectiveness of the customer invoicing function and related internal controls.
    • Maintain regular and ongoing communications with customers in order to ensure the timely issuance of weekly customer invoices and resolution of all disputes and past due amounts.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation.
    • Complete monthly customer financial results and variance analysis.
    • Assist in the completion of company and customer budgets and forecasts.
    • Escalates any financial issues to management and recommends strategies for improving financial performance.
    • Provide leadership and mentoring for TransFinance Coordinators.
    • Perform other related job duties as assigned or required.

    What You'll Bring

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Excellent analytic, project management, problem solving, time management and organizational skills
    • Proficient in MS Office suite: such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and financial software applications with ability to summarize and present large volumes of data in a concise manner
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
    Preferred Qualifications
    • SAP and MercuryGate TMS experience beneficial 
    • 2-3 years financial analysis experience preferred

    • Salary Range: Your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. We anticipate this role to pay a minimum base salary of $68,000, but actual base pay will depend on the successful candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.

    Physical Requirements 
    This is a largely sedentary role requiring the physical ability to:
    • Sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk while working on a computer 
    • Use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard, mouse, and telephone
    • Speak and hear clearly in person, virtually, and over the phone
    • Occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or lift up to 35 pounds, with some twisting and turning during equipment installs.
    Work Environment
    This position operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and printers.
    Location/Remote Eligibility
    This is a hybrid role based out of our Des Plaines, IL office. Regular, on-site presence is required (4) days per week or as otherwise directed by the company.The role may be performed in a hybrid work setting (combination of on-site and/or remote), depending on business needs and location eligibility. When working remote, employees are expected to maintain a dedicated, distraction-free, confidential workspace and reliable internet connection.
