Position Overview:

The Senior Financial Analyst/ Planning &Analysis is an individual contributor role that reports to the VP of Finance.  The FP&A Manager will support the VP through reporting and analytics on the financial performance.

This is a hybrid role located at our Corporate Office in Des Plaines, IL.  Candidates must live within a commutable distance to the corporate office.  There is no relocation assistance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


Financial analysis and reporting:

  • Manages financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting and creates variance analysis reports and financial models
  • Help maintain budget and forecast templates and various financial models
  • Participate in monthly business reviews and provide analytical support focused to each business type (i.e. warehousing, transportation, and freight forwarding)
  • Perform ad-hoc financial/quantitative analysis and various reporting, financial modeling
  • Improving the processes that analysts use to create forecasts and analyze historical data
  • Work in collaboration with the operations, accounting and finance teams in the various business units to understand the business structure, business model, and cost components of the business
  • Escalates any financial issues to management and recommends strategies for increasing financial performance
  • Collection and extraction of financial and market data for various business units (i.e. logistics trends, etc.)
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for financial planning analysts

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 or more years of financial planning & analysis experience for mid-large size organizations
  • Logistics industry experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical, project management, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • JD Edwards and SAP experience beneficial
  • Korean language skills are a plus
  • Additional duties as assigned
