Who We Are

This position oversees the entire QA/QC operations at CJF’s newest & largest manufacturing plant, CJ FMBC. He or she will have primary responsibility of successfully implementing the QA/QC programs at the new facility prior to it going into operation. He or she will also assist with the hiring efforts to fill vacant positions in QA/QC teams who will help run the implemented programs and ensure its ongoing food safety processes.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Manage, achieve and maintain food / health related permits for manufacturing facilities (USDA, FDA, State, County, City), with regular inspections (USDA inspection, FDA LACF/FSMA/FSVP CDPH cannery license inspection)
    • Prevent, respond (corrective action / preventive action) and follow up to Government (Federal – USDA / FDA / etc., State, County and City) violations
    • Create and manage HACCP (including Seafood HACCP) / SOP / Policies / SSOP
    • Review Technology transfer document and verify plant formula/ spec/ COA etc.
    • Coordinate and lead recalls
    • Provide support to marketing and R&D for the development of new products; approve ingredients, packaging labels (including USDA LSAS approvals)
  • Quality System Management
    • Manage all quality initiatives of the USDA / FDA manufacturing facilities & Warehouse.
    • Lead and manage 3rd party audits such as BRC, SQF, Siliker, CCOF, etc.
    • Create and update quality programs to comply with USDA, FDA regulations and third party audit (GFSI, Organic/Non-GMO/Gluten Free Certification, and all the other Food Safety Certifications)
    • Follow-up on internal and external food quality/safety audits & report and track corrective actions
  • Customer Complaints
    • Manage consumer complaints to counteract, track, minimize and prevent complaints
  • Supplier Control
    • Create and update as necessary supplier/co-packer auditing program and manage quality systems for co-packers / suppliers (ingredient / packaging suppliers / chemicals / pest control / etc.)
  • Product Quality / Food Safety
    • Create and manage product specifications to comply regulations and customer needs
    • Manage and operate standard for quality / food safety analysis with internal or 3rd party lab
  • Others
    • Manage department staff; hire, train, assign responsibilities and impose disciplinary actions
    • Replace for QC supervisor when the QC supervisor is absent Qualifications
Job Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or science based program
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in food quality fields/audited food manufacturing sites/HACCP certified (USDA facility QA or QC experience preferred)
  • Experience in Asian Foods and trained in SQF/BRC is preferred
  • BPCS (Better Process Control School) certificate is a plus
  • Seafood HACCP Certification is a plus.
