  • Position: R&D Researcher, specializing in shelf-stable processed rice
  • This position researches properties of rice and grain grown in the US or abroad and develops shelf-stable ready-to-serve rice products & ready meal products

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Acquire information on properties and characteristics of rice grown all over the world including the United States and analyze their physicochemical properties through experiences
  • Select suitable raw rice for commercialization and standardize & manage its qualities
  • Select grain or grain combinations that are most preferred by US consumers and develop formulas for the products
  • Develop manufacturing process to ensure the stability and safety of the shelf-stable, ready-to-serve rice and ready-meal products and apply them to actual production sites
  • Establish and apply production process conditions for each grain to achieve the target quality
  • Analyze the cost structure of the developed and developing products
  • Plan and conduct testings to calculate the shelf-life of developed products
  • B.S. or M.S. degree (U.S. or foreign) or equivalent in Food Science, Food & Nutrition Studies, Agricultural Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences, or related field, or equivalent combination of educations
  • At least 3 years of related work experience in processed rice manufacturing
  • Research experience in rice, rice seeds, or grains preferred
