Your Impact
The Compensation Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day administration of CivicPlus’ compensation programs. With guidance from the Director, People Operations, this role supports the development and maintenance of our compensation strategy & philosophy, benchmarking processes, salary grade structures, and market data review. The Compensation Analyst collaborates closely with leaders and HR teams to review market data annually and make informed recommendations using our compensation data software.

What You’ll Do
As a Compensation Analyst you will:
Compensation Strategy & Program Management
- Assist the Director of People Operations in updating the compensation strategy, philosophy, and policies in alignment with CivicPlus goals.
- Manage the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, including the Annual Market Analysis review and Annual Merit Increase process.
Policy & Compliance
- Maintain compensation policies, procedures, and related documents to ensure adherence to current best practices and compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to pay transparency laws and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Updates and maintains basic compensation structures in the organization (grading system, job evaluation system, job description policy, promotion policy, etc.) aligned with CivicPlus compensation philosophy, culture, and core values.
Market Analysis & Benchmarking, & Data Management
- Utilize compensation data software to analyze data and support decision-making.
- Answer all ticket inquiries from employees and leaders regarding compensation.
- Conduct benchmarking and market analysis annually to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.
- Prepare and participate in salary surveys and monitor salary survey data to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
- Own and maintain up-to-date compensation data in compensation data software, CompAnalyst and CompXL.
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with leaders and HR teams to address compensation-related issues, provide guidance in pay decisions, job evaluations, and policy interpretations.
- Prepare and present compensation market analysis, financial impact, and recommendations to leadership on a quarterly basis and ad hoc as needed.
- Communicate compensation programs, policies, and initiatives by developing presentations, maintaining Internal Knowledge Base content, leading meetings, preparing announcements, and responding to related inquiries.
- Develop communications plans, tools, and materials to increase the understanding of current and new programs.
Additional Support
- As a member of the People Operations team, the Compensation Analyst may also provide support for payroll, benefits, 401k, and wellness activities on an as needed basis. This includes but is not limited to audits and reports, ticket support, and team projects.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, finance, or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in compensation analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and reporting, auditing, and presenting data.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Experience with compensation data software and market data analysis.
- Experience with CompAnalyst and CompXL is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a remote setting.
- Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Estimated Salary Grade Range: $70,300 - $101,300
- The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and is based on a 40-hour work week.
