Position Overview:

Provides excellent customer service and parking attendant services for the Centre in the Square theatre events. The event season for Centre in the Square is from September to June.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Controls traffic entering and exiting parking lot.
  • Provides assistance to parking lot customers including giving directions and providing general information.
  • Keeps traffic flow moving and assists customers who have difficulty exiting parking lot.
  • Patrols parking lot and reports problems to appropriate staff (e.g., vehicles running, lights left on).
  • Takes direction and deployment from onsite Event Coordinator.
  • Counts number of cars entering and exiting parking lot to track available parking spaces.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Equivalent to partial secondary school education (completed grade 10 at minimum) with 1 month of related experience.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Willing to work in a team environment and accept direction.
  • Willing to work evening and weekends.
  • Able to perform some manual labour including walking, standing and directing traffic for extended periods. Some lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather, including snow, rain, and cold temperatures.
  • Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.

 

Hours of Work: Theatre events occur in the evenings (Monday to Saturday) and the occasional weekend afternoon. Staff must be willing to work a minimum of 1-3 shifts per week. One shift is approximately 4-5 hours in length. Staff must arrive approximately 1.5 hours prior to showtime.
