Job Status:  Continuous Part-Time

Pay & Grade: $21.00 to $21.73   Hourly Band: 2

Hours of Work:Up to 24 hours per week

Initial location: Kitchener Market

Posting period:September 23, 2025 to September 30, 2025 (at 6:00pm)

 

Overview

 

As an Event Attendant, you will assist with market day operations and coordination with vendors, and public and private programs.

 

Must be willing to work various hours to accommodate the rental bookings/special events schedule, including evenings, weekends and STAT holidays.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Opens facility.
  • Coordinates vendor setup on market day. Works with vendors regarding set up.
  • Responds to inquiries from vendors; resolve setup and vendor conflicts, parking
  • issues, and other issues.
  • Reviews of the initial vendor stall layouts and parking plan designs, and recommendations
  • changes.
  • Mops floors (dry and wet) prior to rental set up.
  • Wipes down tables.
  • Arrange tables, chairs, and tents as requested.
  • Takes down tables and chairs and returns items to storage.
  • Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, toilets, urinals, mirrors, walls, water
  • fountains, tables, and all touch spots.
  • Cleans and polishes metalwork, such as fixtures, fittings, and elevators.
  • Sweeps, dry mops, and wet mops floors.
  • Dusts furniture and shelves.
  • Cleans entrance doors, windows, and glass.
  • Empties garbage, recycling, and composting receptacles.
  • Receives and responds to calls throughout the day to clean up spills.
  • Reports damages or vandalism to supervisor as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Must have some secondary school education.
  • Minimum 3 months of related experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work various hours to accommodate the rental bookings/special events schedule, including evenings, weekends or statutory holidays
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position e.g. lifting weight up to 25 lbs.; and prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Preference will be given to those who are Smart Serve Certified or willing to obtain at your own expense.
  • Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
