Pay & Grade: $60,097 to $74,649 Annually Grade/Band: 6
Hours of Work:35 Hours per week

Overview
We are looking for an experienced, highly organized and efficient payroll administrator to work with the Payroll team to complete payroll processing and other related payroll functions
Responsibilities
- Enters/processes employee time in PeopleSoft and SuccessFactors.
- Processes Time & Labour Distribution Extract data.
- Calculates and processes payments for overtime, pay advances, vacation pay and retroactive pay and garnishments.
- Calculates adjustments for Workplace Safety Insurance Board, Employment Insurance, leaves, deduction arrears and OMERS pension.
- Reviews and processes audit reports for employee changes.
- Runs and completes payroll processes for regular payroll; links pay groups, loads time and labour.
- Runs and completes payroll processes for remote location work; runs reports and ensures entries for hours owing are approved and all exceptions are cleared.
- Sets up payroll processing controls for all payroll runs.
- Creates files, balances, and electronically transmits direct deposits and garnishment files to banks and other institutions.
- Creates printable files, prints, sorts, and distributes pay stubs and cheques.
- Processes weekly payroll data for upload into SAP.
- Issues manual/off- cycle cheques for adjustments and corrections as required.
- Documents current payroll processes and assist in identifying inefficient processes and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies.
- Maintains payroll records for audit purposes and records retention in accordance with company policy and applicable legislation.
- With a critical eye for improvement, analyzes and evaluates current processes and provides recommendations for business and system improvements to enhance customer service and reduce issues.
- Responds to inquiries from staff with professionalism and clarity.
- Provides support for staff members who enter Payroll data, including those at remote locations.
- Issues Record of Employment electronically on deadline to meet legislative requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent plus 1-year post-secondary education.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience.
- Full-cycle payroll processing (preferably an in-house payroll system).
- Excellent mathematical, accounting, analytical and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. tax, CRA regulations).
- Experience creating process and procedure documentation.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate with people at all levels within and outside the Corporation.
- Highly organized and efficient.
- Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
