Overview
The Aquatic Assistant supports aquatic staff in delivering programs and ensures a safe environment for the wading pool and waterslide. This role involves supervision, accident prevention, public education, and assisting with various tasks and events.
Responsibilities
- Assist aquatic staff in delivering aquatic programs.
- Ensure a safe environment for the wading pool and waterslide through supervision, accident prevention, and public education.
- Ensure compliance with Ontario Health Regulations and relevant legislation, as well as Policy and Procedures manuals.
- Take appropriate action to handle incidents, problems, and emergencies according to Divisional policies and procedures.
- Provide minor First Aid as needed.
- Assist with paperwork completion.
- Inform patrons of policies related to entry onto the deck area.
- Assist with special events.
- Conduct routine change room checks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Up to 1 month of related experience.
- Must provide a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector check at your own expense as a condition of employment.
- Current Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross certification.
- Current Lifesaving Society Assistant Instructor certification or Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification.
- Current Lifesaving Society approved Standard First Aid and CPR Level “C”
- Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
