Position Overview:

The City of Kitchener is seeking temporary labourers to work as part of the Traffic team in the Operations-Roads and Traffic Division.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining existing and new traffic, parking, regulatory, and special signs within Kitchener.
  • Painting all lines and pavement markings on City streets, as well as parking lot markings.
  • Setting up construction, detour, information and related signage for road repair work and reconstruction projects.
  • Maintaining all related equipment and materials.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. 
  • Valid MTO “G” class driver’s license in good standing and ability to provide Drivers Abstract at your own expense as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to perform manual labour.
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts, & rotational duties, weekends and overtime as required.  
  • Good communication skills with an ability to keep accurate written records.
  • Ability to participate as an effective team member
  • Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
