Position Overview:


Please note that the initial selection for this position will take place in October 2021. Following this, applications will be kept on file as a job pool for further staffing needs.




Duties may include:

  • Winter control, Downtown Sidewalks, City Hall, Market, Victoria Park Rink.
  • Winter control, Hand Clearing - Sidewalks, Facility Walkways, Walkway Steps and School Crossing Guard Intersections.
  • Winter control, City Sidewalks.
  • Winter control, Facility Parking Lots, Cemeteries, MUP/Trails and Rep Route Patrol.
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Must be reliable with good attitude and employment record.
  • Must be willing to successfully complete a medical examination if required.
  • Must have minimum Grade 12 diploma.
  • Must have demonstrated communication/customer service skills and successfully pass applicable testing with an ability to keep accurate written records.
  • Must be prepared to be trained in the operation of all related equipment and work skills.
  • Must be able to perform a variety of duties including manual labour.
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts, & rotational duties, weekends and overtime as required.
  • Must have an ability to participate as an effective team member.
  • Must complete all required training as it relates to the position.  
  • Must have a class G license in good standing


Candidates selected for hire will be required to provide a satisfactory driver's abstract dated no earlier than 30 days prior to their hire date as a condition of employment.


Candidates may be required to complete and pass on-line testing and training prior to their start date.
