Department Overview

Interface Solutions is responsible for all aspects of portfolio data exchange and support – trade activity, pricing and position data. The group has both an operational and a strategic mandate to fulfill. This is accomplished through a location strategy that combines presence in strategic locations close to our client needs and the utilization of standardization, centralization and scale in our operational Centre of Excellence (CoE).


Position Overview


The Analyst is part of the mapping function within Interface Solutions and is responsible for meeting the deliverables of the Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) requirements in the group.  The Analyst reports to the AVP / Supervisor and will be required to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of accounting, trade capture and data processing.  The successful candidate will have the ability to follow processes and have a fundamental understanding of complex financial instruments. As a member of this team, the Analyst is responsible for management of all aspects of automating and processing this data. The Analyst is expected to be have knowledge of ETL concepts and in how to resolve ETL related data issues. This team is expected to be able to resolve data issues based on an improved understanding of the overall lifecycle of a trade.



 Main Job Functions/Tasks


ETL / Data Mapping

  • Core duties include mapping externally provided files into the Citco Normalized Data Container (NDC) tool and Xceptor ETL Tool.
  • SQL knowledge is required (this can be learned) in order to create logic to translate broker-specific files into the normalized values required in the Normalized Data Container.  
  • Ensure client data is flowing as expected when new interfaces are implemented.
  • Analyze files and validate that all product/ asset class specific data is being provided.
  • Interpret business logic to define and translate data mappings; QA test and validate output using a suite of mapping tools and downstream target applications.


 Education & Experiences

  • Bachelor or master level degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or other relevant professional designation (CFA, CGA, CMA, CA, CPA);
  • General knowledge of databases or experience using SQL Server (T-SQL) and/or Oracle is required.  General ETL process experience
  • Any 1-2 years’ experience in Financial Services with an exposure Operations processing is preferred. 
  • Product knowledge, Domestic, Global and OTC security markets, Fixed Income and derivative product knowledge.
  • Business Analyst experience is desired besides comfort with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good problem solving skills. Candidates are required to research problems reported by operations teams to determine if an actual problem exists or if additional training is required. When actual problem exists, they need to recommend a workaround until an actual fix to the problem is implemented.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to users in terms that can be easily understood.
  • Experience working with data files is a must. Ideal candidate has a strong understanding of financial products and strategies that a hedge fund might use.


Working Hours:


Operational processing for Interface Solutions in Pune overlaps with APAC, European and NA Region. The working hours need to adapt to operational needs. The team covers Asia-Pacific, European and North American time zones starting at 10:00 Pune on Monday to 21:00 Pune on Friday. Staff is usually rotated through two shifts periodically and best efforts are made to ensure fair and equitable work arrangements for all.
