About the Team & Business Line:

Citco Bank provides fully integrated transaction, deposit, foreign exchange and credit facilities to our Fund Services and Governance Services clients. Operating in strategic global centres Citco Bank provides access to best of breed process and technology.

As a core member of our Banking Services Payments team, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to minimize operational risks and ensure our clients experience seamless delivery across banking services.

The Payments & Reconciliation Analyst is responsible for timely processing of payment transfers into the core banking system. The position also requires the managing and resolving of internal and external stakeholder queries, the reconciliation of our multiple Nostro accounts and creating/managing investigations with our various correspondent banks. You will also be required to assist with ongoing testing of various system enhancements.

The completion of these functions should assist in the controlled and smooth running of the Payments department in order to meet the Service level agreement expected by Citco’s clients.

Your Role:

  • You will process incoming and outgoing payment transfers according to the payment instructions received by making the necessary entries into the core banking system that would eventually generate swift messages.    
  • Process correspondent charges into the core banking system to pass on external payment transfers charges to the clients account                                                                                  
  • Process manual single currency and FX payment instructions
  • Process non-STP swift payments that have hit Repair queue in our core banking system
  • Create Swift investigation case with our counterparties for all incoming payment transfers that are not compliant with FATF16 Regulation
  • Create and process manual investigation Swift messages from internal departments
  • Process journals received upon request from internal departments
  • Keep register of incoming checks for deposits and book the funds to the client’s account upon receipt of the conditional credit
  • Prepare checks according to the issuance request and pass on the entries to client’s account
  • Monitor daily Nostro report for items assigned to department code OPS and reconcile open items timely to avoid aging
  • Ongoing analysis of payments bookings processes to assist to identify risks and enhance operational efficiencies
  • Escalation of any errors to the Manager in a timely manner as well as assisting with Incident report write up
  • Assist with testing of system enhancements
  • Ad hoc tasks and projects as they arise


About You:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree
  • You have 2 years of Banking or Financial Services experience.
  • Very good attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Willingness to take ownership/responsibility for work
  • Candidate must have good analytical skills
  • Proven multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word/Access/Outlook
  • Flexible attitude
  • Professional attitude with good communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • An adaptable team player with a proactive approach to problem resolution
  • Ability to escalate issues effectively to Managers or Management
  • A good understanding of Swift message formatting
  • Temenos T24, Swift experience would be an advantage
