About the Team & Business Line:

Working with Group Compliance, this opportunity is ideal for those seeking to establish or further their career in Compliance. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the local regulated entities and the Group Compliance Function and will be reporting to the Maltese Compliance Officer and MLRO.

The role will be an integral part of the Compliance team in Malta and a key component in ensuring our ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements

This is an excellent and rare opportunity for the right person to use their creativity and expertise to contribute to the Compliance function that will underpin the organization for continued success.

Your Role:

  • You will support the Compliance Officer in building and maintaining a constructive and professional relationship with all relevant regulators, external auditors and other external parties, and internal customers.
  • You will work with the Compliance Officer and senior management to facilitate a robust compliance culture.
  • You will work to evolve the organization and control environment of Citco Compliance.
  • You will assist with the designing, managing and overseeing the execution of the regulatory compliance oversight programs (e.g. monitoring, regulatory reporting, and training) of applicable business units and legal entities in conformity with Group and local standards.
  • You will support the effective identification, measurement, control and management of regulatory compliance risk through ensuring that all the applicable regulatory compliance teams adopt and follow the Group Compliance methodologies including:

 

  • The process of including all applicable laws, rules, regulations and compliance risks into their respective business environments;
  • The annual and regulatory compliance risk assessment processes;
  • Assisting with the assessing the overall regulatory posture of the region’s business units and offices and assessing the overall effectiveness of the respective compliance oversight programs
  • You will contribute to the global development, implementation, review and revisions of regulatory compliance policies, procedures and systems.
  • You will be supporting the MLRO in ensuring that an appropriate AML regime is in place.
  • You will monitor applicable regulatory changes and provide effective change management within the business units to address such changes.
  • You will participate in Group Compliance forums
  • You will be collaborating with Legal, Risk and Internal Audit, as appropriate. In particular, jointly developing a relationship management strategy for all relevant regulators and leading the execution of the strategy.
  • You will develop and enhance reporting to senior management.
  • You will escalate and report relevant matters to the MLRO.
  • You will travel as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
  • Any other relevant responsibilities that may arise or be assigned by the Malta Compliance Officer.

 

 

About You:

  • A college Diploma or university degree in a financial or legal area would be desirable
  • You have a minimum of 2 years related work experience in the Malta financial sector;
  • You have strong knowledge of the Malta regulatory environment in particular AML/CFT, data protection and outsourcing
  • You have strong analytical, research and reporting skills
  • You have excellent communication skills in English (written & oral)
  • Compliance monitoring experience will be a plus
  • You are pro-active and result driven
  • You are competent at developing good working relationships
