Description

This is a Senior System Administrator  position requiring very wide and deep knowledge and experience, not only on the networking technologies, but also on other areas of the infrastructure stack, like compute, storage, middleware, applications. The candidate fitting this position will master traditional on-premise routing and switching (datacenter and branch), will have an excellent understanding and real life experience on cloud networking, SDWAN and network security. This position is both engineering and support/operations as an escalation from first level staff.

This position reports to the SVP Infrastructure Services – Network, and interacts closely with IT development teams, IT architecture teams, and other IT groups worldwide.

The main requirements of this position are:

• Well rounded background with at least 10 years proven experience in an enterprise setting, and preferably in the financial sector.
• Strong traditional networking engineering experience – Routing, switching, firewalling, load balancing.
• Good understanding and hands-on experience on cloud networking, with focus on AWS and Azure.
• Strong familiarity and hands-on experience with SDWAN, in particular Vmware Velocloud.
• Experience automating and scripting management and operational tasks for network infrastructure.
• Participate in On-call rotation (every 8-10 weeks).

Technical Requirements:

• Must haves: Strong knowledge and extensive hands-on experience in the following areas and technologies:
• Expert level experience in wide area network routing and Cisco routers, branch office and datacenter grade (2900/3900, ISR4K, ASR1K, etc.), and site to site IPsec.
• SDWAN experience, deploying, configuring, managing, monitoring – in particular Vmware Velocloud.
• Many years of experience in switching infrastructure - datacenter, campus and small/medium branch office networks (Meraki, Catalyst and Nexus family).
• Strong management and operations of Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama.
• Several year experience managing F5 BigIP load balancers.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of OSPF in the enterprise.
• First-hand experience implementing, maintaining NAC ecosystems (802.1x).
• Strong knowledge and real life experience with BGP within and between autonomous systems.
• Experiencing configuring and maintaining remote access VPN systems (Palo Alto Global Protect).
• Hands-on implementing QOS in the LAN and WAN for the enablement of IP telephony and video conferencing or VDI.
• Experience with AWS and Azure networking, (or others like Oracle OCI, Google GCP).
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP protocols and packet analysis.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills / critical thinking problem resolution.
• Other helpful skills:
• Multi-cloud networking orchestration (Aviatrix).
• Building infrastructure in the cloud using AWS cloud formation, Azure ARM templates, Terraform.
• Understanding and experience with deployment in the cloud using pipelines.
• VXLAN experience/understanding.
• Scripting and programming skills (ansible, python, javascript, powershell, bash shell, expect, DOS batch, perl, json, yaml, etc).
