Through our global office network we provide a full suite of corporate administrative services to set up, administer and maintain corporate entities throughout their life cycle.

Working with our Governance Services team, you will work with multinationals, corporates and private clients to provide critical support that helps them meet the increasing regulatory and compliance requirements that shape the industry.

Your Role:

The Senior Compliance and Risk Officer (“SCO”) assists local management in securing compliance with the Citco KYC policies and Guidelines, local AML and anti-terrorist financing legislation and local regulations as issued by the Regulator or other authorities having supervisory authority over the local Citco operation, whether it is in legislation, guidelines, or other form of regulation. Management remains ultimately responsible for compliance with the respective policies, rules and legislation and client acceptance. The SCO has a reporting line to local management and a functional reporting line to the Divisional Compliance and Risk Officer.


Considering the above, the SCO has the following responsibilities:

  • Writing procedures, developing forms, keeping such procedures and forms up to date with new developments;
  • Keeping informed as to present and future legislation and regulatory developments in the jurisdiction;
  • Informing management and Group Compliance in a timely manner as to legislative and regulatory requirements and developments, including expected impact on the office;
  • Keeping informed about international developments;
  • Providing training to employees as to policy, legislation and procedures;
  • Reviewing KYC records as to completeness including verifying that due diligence has been performed and that Citco’s (due diligence) standards are complied with;
  • Maintaining an instant overview of complete and incomplete KYC records and monitoring the actions taken to complete KYC records;
  • Clearing and/or verifying possible matches as generated by the Fircosoft system;
  • Assisting in scanning the Citco databases against lists of undesirable persons;
  • Monitoring clients and their activities who are identified for such actions;
  • Maintaining a database of relationships having a PEP or a banker as beneficial owner and securing that approvals for such relationships are timely obtained in the manner as established;
  • Receiving and handling internal reports of unusual or suspicious transactions as per the procedures developed;
  • Preparing reports for the reporting office receiving Unusual/Suspicious Transactions and filing such reports. Keeping records of such reports filed and of cases reported internally, but not reported in the end to the Reporting Office;
  • Maintaining the general KYC File, to include:
    • Attendance lists of internal and or external (educational) sessions on the KYC policies and money laundering and terrorist financing prevention;
    • Distribution lists of all material distributed on these subjects (like KYC Newsletters, articles from newspapers or periodicals, KYC policies, etc.);
    • Warnings issued by Divisional/Group compliance;
    • Relevant legislation and regulation;
    • Clients refused or terminated for cause (non-compliance KYC or other reasons except for non-payment of fees)
  • Reporting every month to Divisional/Group Compliance relevant data as requested (like amounts of refused and terminated business and suspicious activity reports filed with the authorities and the like);
  • Reporting every quarter to Divisional/Group Compliance as to Compliance activities and developments for the quarter (to be included in the Group Compliance report to the Executive Committee);
  • Completing and filing the Compliance Officer annual report to the Board of Directors and the BVI Financial Services Commission;
  • Coordinates the implementation of Risk Management Policies as to: i) Incident reporting; ii) Action plans; iii) Key Risk Indicators (KRI); iv) Business Continuity Management (BCM); v) Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSA); vi) Project Oversight Process (POP); vii) Product Approval Process (PAP);
  • Prepare periodic risk reports;
  • Participate in periodic Risk and Compliance Calls;
  • Captures information in Protiviti (Citco’s risk management tool) as to Incident reporting, action plans, RCSA, KRI, POP, PAP, etc. and keeps Protiviti up-to-date;
  • Ensure timely handling of due dates in Protiviti and Team Central (Group Internal Audit issue tracking database);
  • Coordinates management of open audit items in Team Central;
  • Prepare and give risk management training to staff.


The SCO acts as liaison with local regulatory bodies such as the BVI Financial Services Commission. This duty includes:

  • Keeping up to date with regulatory developments;
  • Making sure the office complies with requirements for prior approvals and/or notifications regarding:
  • any amendments of the corporate structure of Citco BVI Limited;
  • any promotion and/or hiring of members of staff (where applicable, i.e. senior officers).


Supervises members of the Compliance Team.

  • Ensures all KYC files are brought to completion;
  • Delegates tasks to employees, provide instructions and ongoing support;
  • Monitor, review and approve their timecards on a weekly basis (ensuring an efficient use of their time); and Completes performance appraisals.


About You:

University Degree, Masters or Bachelors in Law with 5 years work experience in Compliance preferable in Trust or Banking with ICA, ACAMS or other similar certification
