About the Team & Business Line:

The Citco Banking division provides banking, depositary and custody services to Citco’s “Alternative” investor client base. The Citco Banking division is globally recognized as the pre-eminent service provider to the hedge fund industry.

The primary purpose of the client support and reconciliations role is to act as a point of contact for clients, both internal and external, to assist with the resolution of client queries, with a special focus on the Bank’s Asian time-zone based clients holding bank accounts within Citco Bank Nederland N.V. (Amsterdam Head Office) and its Branches in Dublin and Luxembourg. The senior analyst must become fully up to speed on all areas of Citco’s business so they understand the correct path for clients queries, while ensuring a quick and efficient turn around to such queries.

The position is also responsible for the reconciliation of all cash and securities positions between external bank and custody accounts and internal records. Specifically identifying all items, which are un-reconciled, while advising the Operations teams of these items, both internal and external, as well as independently investigating with correspondent banks and counterparties directly.

This position will be a busy, demanding and interesting role, which will allow the successful candidate the opportunity to learn many different aspects of Citco and the Banking environment.

 

Your Role:

  • Accurately and efficiently managing client queries, via both email and phone, with a focus on those received before Ireland start of day, where you will be the first point of contact.
  • Providing clients direct updates on the settlement status of payments, including reviewing T24 and Swift GPI.
  • Working closing with the Payments processing team in Ireland for status updates on pending payments and advising clients in a timely fashion.
  • Providing copies of swifts, transaction statements, fee schedules, Standard Settlement Instructions, interest calculation statements and other ad-hoc requests.
  • Advising clients on how to use Citco Banking Online (CBO) in order to process payments and monitor their account activity.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and other Citco colleagues based in a variety of other locations such as Amsterdam, Cork, Dublin and Luxembourg.
  • Helping to understand all the needs of our clients and to ensure the client has an excellent customer service experience.
  • Maintain a professional approach to all duties and uphold client confidentiality.
  • Become knowledgeable about Citco’s banking operations.
  • Conduct reconciliation of bank and securities statement activities to internal records for all Banks within the division.
  • Perform initial investigation on un-reconciled open items.
  • Carry out intraday checks to ensure all reconciliations processes have been completed within strict deadlines.
  • Perform payment FATF investigations for AML compliance.
  • Generate and control multiple daily and weekly reports.
  • Monitoring, oversight and control of centralized team email mailboxes.
  • Manage and control all payment cases opened.
  • Actively assess risk and potential failure points in the process handled and help highlight the areas to line Managers and risk teams.
  • Actively look for opportunities to standardize processes and assist Managers in process mapping and automation/ improvement efforts, and engage in local and global projects when required.
  • Create and update Standing Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and Process Flows where necessary.
  • Work closely with the Management on concerns and issues as they arise in daily operations.
  • Any other tasks as they arise.

 

About You:

  • Client services and financial services experience is required.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken), excellent communication & interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong understanding of SWIFT and banking systems.
  • Strong problem solving, time-management, process management and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge in general account reconciliation processing is desired.
  • Ability to multitask and to work to tight deadlines is essential.
  • Hardworking, trustworthy individual with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to escalate issues effectively to Management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications.
