As a core member of our Hedge Fund Accounting IT (HFA IT) team you will work with dedicated professionals to ensure our clients maintain access to their critical information assets while keeping Citco ahead of industry trends.

HFA IT department manages the core accounting platform (Æxeo®) and data warehouse within Citco. The platform is used by clients globally and is the first true straight-through, proprietary front-to-back solution for hedge funds that uses a single database for all activities including order capture, position and P&L reporting and accounting.

Leveraging your previous modern application development experience and expertise, you will work as part of a team that builds modern solutions on cloud platforms.  You will be working in a cross-functional team, using agile methodologies to build cloud native applications for the financial services industry.  We are looking for a strong technologist who is passionate about technology, delivery and data.

Position reports to the Executive Vice president of the Hedge Fund Accounting IT (HFA IT) department.

Your Role:

  • Lead technical teams on long duration and highly complex tasks
  • Collaborate with other developers in the construction of software; Leads partnerships across organizational and regional boundaries
  • Define and drive development, code and other standard tools within and across the organization
  • Supervise technical staff and conduct code reviews and technical training
  • Deliver assigned work on time, on scope and with low defect rates; implements processes to reduce defect rates across teams
  • Recognized by colleagues as a specialist in 1 or more technologies - demonstrated "go-to" person for challenging technical issues
  • Understands of 2 or more aspects of the Alternative Investment industry (e.g. fund accounting, private equity, investor relations, risk, tax, etc.) and broad understanding of multiple aspects. 
  • Explore and apply new technologies - ability to differentiate successful from unsuccessful technologies through analysis, review and usage.
  • Synthesize knowledge of different business needs and effectively apply new technology to solve problems and improve efficiencies.
  • Define current and target state physical architecture requirements of software systems taking into account throughput, latency and reliability requirements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement, mentoring and training.

About You:

  • You have 12+ years of professional hands-on experience of the full SDLC of enterprise application development.
  • 7+ years of experience in a financial services company;3+ years of experience with Alternative Investments; 5+ years delivering complex production systems and/or solving complex technical problem;3+ years identifying and implementing new technologies
  • Highly proficient in 2 or more programming languages (Python, Java, C#, JavaScript); 
  • Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming, relational and No-SQL databases and software development lifecycles - Waterfall, Agile (Distributed)
  • Advanced understanding and demonstrated proficiency with core software development processes - debugging, code tuning, code management and branching, coding styles, CI\CD and refactoring.
  • Advanced knowledge of build management, code management, debugging and code optimization
  • Highly proficient in improving performance and reliability of production systems
  • Minimum 3 year hands on experience in cloud platforms (Compute, Databases, Container Management frameworks, load balancers, monitoring, encryption, storage, serverless and network) and its API’s.
  • Hands-on experience developing API based systems, using design patterns within a microservices style of architecture.
  • Working knowledge of poplar Open-source libraries and frameworks in different areas – UI, ML, Big data, Grafana, Prometheus  and so on
  • Working knowledge and demonstrable experience with information security.
  • Cloud and other technology certifications are a good to have.
  • Some travel may be required
  • Strong verbal and written skills across technical audiences - good ability to communicate with non-technical audiences
  • Communicates a "can do" attitude and positive outlook, minimizing negative behaviors
