The Global Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for a wide range of technical work across health and safety disciplines, passionate about improving safety, reducing risk, and empowering partners while developing, implementing, leading, and maintaining health and safety programs across the organization. You will work both individually and in cross-functional teams to educate all employees on health and safety awareness and ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global health and safety management program and work to embed into business operations to ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations and customer requirements
  • Implement appropriate health and safety education and training across the organization
  • Work cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders to build operational standards in line with safety and regulatory best practices
  • Oversee Global Health and Safety Management System
  • Ensure adherence to Local, State and Federal regulations, industry standards/best practices
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and proactive approaches to EHS
  • Lead continuous improvement of programs such as lockout/tagout, confined space, hazard communication, fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, equipment safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, emergency action planning, electrical safety, and process safety management
  • Conduct risk assessments, internal health and safety audits and onsite health and safety inspections
  • Review and recommend/develop changes in policies, procedures, work environment and equipment to prevent incidents and illness
  • Monitor and analyze appropriate metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Maintain and build upon health and safety performance goals and regularly track and report on performance against those goals
  • Investigate health and safety incidents and that ensure corrective actions are taken
  • Work with the Environmental, Social and Governance “ESG” team to support corporate initiatives

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with 7+ years of progressively responsible related experience, with 3+ years of experience leading the health and safety function at a global level, along with a consistent track record of driving the health and safety agenda in a multi-site, global R&D organization
  • Have in-depth knowledge of OSHA reporting and record keeping requirements
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety regulations
  • Demonstrate solid employee relations experience, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks and deadlines and complete multiple priorities with minimal direction
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert level knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and systems experience (ERPs, such as SAP) to produce details such as management information, dashboards, metrics

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • OSHA certification(s) such as Certified Occupational Safety Specialist, Master Certification – Safety and Health, Master Certification, Environmental, Master Certification – Risk Management, or Certified Health and Safety Specialist – General Industry
  • Knowledge of United States, United Kingdom & Asia statutory regulations concerning health, safety, and environment
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001
  • EHS licenses, certifications and/or membership in EHS professional associations are desired, including NEBOSH Qualified

This position is located in Austin, TX

This is a hybrid remote position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
