Senior Staff Digital Design Engineer ES-6377
Responsibilities
- Work within a collaborative team environment to engineer and build digital design subsystems from feasibility analysis through to tape-out
- Work with a cross-functional team to take RTL designs through verification, BIST development and physical design
- Support tape-out and post-silicon activities including validation, characterization, and production test
- Provide mentoring of junior engineers and helping to lead small design teams while owning blocks within the design
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Requires a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of technical expertise in digital system design
- Proven track record developing commercial ICs
- Experience in designing digital subsystems in the Verilog RTL language
- Proficient knowledge of digital design flow including developing block-level requirements, choosing efficient architectures, implementing digital architectures in RTL, supporting verification and synthesis of the RTL design
- Experience designing and verifying complex state-machines
- Solid foundation in control theory, discrete time analysis, z-domain concepts, and digital signal processing techniques
- Strong oral and written communications skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to create high-level models of control loops and signal processing algorithms using tools such as Matlab and Simulink or similar tools
- Familiarity with finite-precision FIR and IIR filter design
- Experience designing SOCs with ARM processors
- Expertise in mixed-signal design, simulation, and verification
- Experience with back-end flow including synthesis, place and route, and timing analysis
- Experience generating functional test vectors for PTE
- A basic understanding of CMOS transistor operation
- Strong lab and silicon validation skills
This position is located in Austin, TX
This is a hybrid position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
