As part of a highly collaborative team, you will be responsible for defining integrated circuits (ICs) and solutions by translating customer’s needs into detailed product and test specifications used to guide design of the IC. This position plays a fundamental role in Cirrus Logic's Mixed-Signal business with plenty of scope for development. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers, marketing and internal engineering teams to define the next generation of products for mobile, consumer and automotive electronics markets.
  • Consider all product requirements such as customer requirements, host system requirements, firmware requirements, digital/analogue process technologies, packaging options, design/system constraints and trade-offs, and propose viable solutions.
  • Detail system and performance requirements generation for both IC and accompanying SW features.
  • Determine hardware/software trade-off analysis for key features and requirements, defining most optimal system implementation.
  • Communicate ideas and specifications to internal and external technical audiences.
  • Author, review, and update system and design specifications.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, IC-level design reviews and board-level design reviews with design, applications, validation, and product test engineers.
  • Perform thorough competitive analysis including lab investigations.
  • Participate in industry conferences and forums to ensure device compatibility with adopted standards.
  • Travel domestically and internationally approximately 4 – 8 weeks per year to work with customers and internal teams.
  • Autonomously manage contending customer and project-related priorities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) with experience in product definition, architecting or designing mixed-signal integrated circuits for low power applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a logical approach to problem solving.
  • Results-oriented and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to work to tight timescales.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent commercial awareness.
  • Experience in a customer facing role .
  • Knowledge of embedded firmware and algorithm design.
  • Hands-on experience of audio/acoustic/power testing and analysis.

This position is located in Edinburgh, UK

This is a hybrid remote position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
