Manager, Design Engineering 5843-wd
As Manager of Design Engineering, you will lead a mixed-signal design team developing innovative products with best-in-class performance for rapidly growing market applications. As a leader in the UK R&D organisation, you will drive and execute projects from concept to final silicon. You will work closely with our key customers and internal marketing groups to define, architect, and implement new products that enable outstanding user experiences in the world’s leading consumer electronics brands. You will also recruit and develop engineers to build a high-performing, collaborative team.

Responsibilities
- Line manage and develop a design team (10-14 analog and digital design engineers).
- Lead and manage all aspects of a design from concept to production silicon, including product specification, architectural development, transistor-level and RTL design, modelling (Matlab, Verilog), verification (block and chip level), DFT, layout, physical design, lab validation.
- Lead communication with multi-functional teams, including marketing, systems, applications, PTE, packaging, and process engineering.
- Collaborate with design & marketing teams based in the UK & US.
- Direct communication with external high-profile customers.
- Work with PMO to lead multiple project scoping and execution tasks.
- Support the migration to new process technology nodes and new applications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Degree (M.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering (or related fields) with typically demonstrated ability in analog/mixed-signal IC developments.
- Strong leadership skills with consistent track record of driving product delivery and operational excellence in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and organised.
- Possess outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic problem solver and influencer with the ability to identify and exploit new technologies.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Hands on experience in the development of one or more of the following products is beneficial: ASICs, ultra-low power instrumentation, audio codec/amplifiers, voice, haptics, power/battery.
- Knowledge of advanced CMOS processes, with experience in ultra-low power design techniques and effective ESD strategies.
This position is located in Edinburgh.
This is a hybrid remote position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
