We’re looking for a customer service oriented Linux administrator who is passionate to join our global Engineering IT team, and keep our CAD workstations, LSF Compute Clusters, NAS storage, globally distributed version control system and infrastructure servers running like well-oiled machines. You will focus on deployment of new systems and providing support to the design community, while identifying tasks for automation and assisting with development of automation tools.   • Automate the provisioning of resources for new engineering projects and new employees
  • Provide Analytics to help drive the efficient use of existing resources
  • Automate the identification and reclamation of resources from inactive projects and terminated employees
  • Participate in the forecasting process to resolve demand for additional resources
  • Process tickets, through resolution or escalation, that pertain to the engineering infrastructure

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with OS installation and workstation setup including virtual workstations
  • Experience with provisioning systems and services in Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with infrastructure services such as NFS, Samba, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, and Active Directory
  • Experience with revision control software such as CVS, Subversion, or Perforce
  • Experience with monitoring frameworks such as Prometheus/Grafana
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux shell, Python or similar languages
  • Experience writing scripts to automate administration functions and to parse files
  • Experience with open source software installation and administration
  • Experience with ticket tracking software
  • Experience with Virtualization technology
  • Experience with configuration management software like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or CFEngine

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science preferred
  • 4+ years of UNIX/Linux Systems Support in a medium to large enterprise environment
  • Two or more years of experience managing NAS Storage appliances
