Cirrus Logic are looking for talented Analog IC Design Engineers to help drive the next generation of technologies and products, to serve new and exciting opportunities in wearable health and medical diagnostics. As part of a highly collaborative team, you will be responsible for the development of extreme low-power, high-performance mixed-signal IC’s in advanced CMOS processes, specified to drive transformational change in these new applications and markets.

Responsibilities

  • Development of CMOS mixed-signal circuitry; from concept, architecture, design, design integration through to production with an awareness of competing solutions and commercial pressures
  • Make a significant contribution to all phases of the project from business and resource planning, market definition, through to development and product delivery.
  • Model analog circuits and solutions in Matlab/Simulink, Verilog-A, SystemVerilog.
  • Simulate and verify circuit performance and functionality using Spectre and ADEXL.
  • Transistor level implementation and design verification.
  • Simulation and verification at the chip level using analog-on-top and digital-on-top methodologies.
  • Lead all aspects of layout implementation and perform post-layout simulations.
  • Hands-on lab evaluation, silicon learning, and debug.
  • Support post-silicon activities including product validation, characterization, and production test.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering (or related fields) with proven and relevant professional experience in mixed signal CMOS circuit design.
  • Deep understanding of analog design flows including architecture, design, and design integration.
  • Strong skills in CMOS analog design and layout of high precision, extremely low power sensing circuits.
  • Strong s-domain and z-domain analysis skills.
  • Hands-on lab test/debug experience with a range a lab equipment.
  • Organised and detailed with strong communication skills.
  • Possess outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-oriented and thrive in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of discrete-time and continuous-time signal processing.
  • Experience of designing low-power, high-performance electrochemical sensing circuits
  • Experience in system and behavioural modelling.
  • Experience in ultra-low power design techniques for mixed-signal CMOS circuits.
  • Experience designing for different CMOS processes and aggressive geometry nodes.
  • Strong lab, silicon validation/debug skills.
  • Understanding of layout.
  • Understanding of reliability concerns.
  • Understanding of high-level scripting tools such as Python, etc..

This position is based in Edinburgh 

This hybrid remote position will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
