Role Summary:

Chubb is currently looking for a Deficiency Quotations Specialist-Fire Systems for our Fire Division. Please note this position can be remote. The position is accountable for the creation, tracking and follow-up of fire alarm inspection deficiency quotes.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly and annual fire alarm inspection documents to determine appropriate remedies for any identified deficiencies and identify associated pricing.
  • Request and gather pricing from third-party vendors and/or suppliers when required.
  • Create deficiency quotation using Chubb quotation systems ensuring the inclusion of all necessary labour, materials, and third-party products, while applying appropriate markups to achieve margin expectations.
  • When necessary, engage with branch-level sales, supervisors, and other staff to determine and coordinate any support involvement in the production of the deficiency quotation.
  • Track and follow up on deficiency quotations with end users/customers as necessary for approvals.
  • Understand and apply Standards of Work for Deficiency Quotations Specialist.
  • Become familiar with supplier portals for material review (g. MyEddie).
  • Become familiar and proficient with the quotation process and systems (g. ProQuote)
  • Assist the Manager of Application support in identifying industry trends and competitor product strategies through quotation follow-up processes.
  • Obtain and maintain a high level of product expertise to support effective sales and service operations.
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of Regulatory Compliance applicable to fire & life safety.
  • Review inspection reports and make intelligent decisions based on identified deficiencies, materials, best practices in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Protect margins against material shortfalls or improper materials in relation to reviewed inspection reports.
  • Provide solutions using industry-approved alternate products when appropriate.
  • Protect against legal recourse arising from improperly applied material applications or regulatory non-conformance through ensuring appropriate inspection review and product selection.
  • Protect against financial losses resulting from incomplete material lists poor product application or incorrect costs or margins.
  • Promote a positive work environment through inclusivity, tolerance, and engagement with all employees.
  • Always make decisions based on the highest level of Ethical Compliance.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Post-Secondary education in a technical field
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in the fire alarm industry in sales or as a service technician.
  • A solid understanding of the Codes and Standards that apply to monthly and annual fire alarm inspections.
  • The ability to determine required materials and associated labour necessary to repair deficiencies identified on inspection reports through consistent, logical, and profitable measures.
  • A solid understanding of the quotation process.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Bilingualism in French
