Role Summary:

Our Hamilton / Stoney Creek branch is currently seeking a Lead Hand - Security.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for technical support for on-site training of technicians to provide advanced trouble-shooting techniques and day-to-day operational support to ensure maximum efficiency.

Responsibility:

  • The Installation Technician will install, test, and program security systems.
  • Troubleshoot alarm panels, CCTV systems, and Card Access systems. 
  • This position also requires collaborating/supervising the work of sub-contractors.  
  • The Technician will be responsible for Surveying sites prior to installation
  • Testing and commissioning of systems to Operations center
  • Installation and programming of Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion systems
  • Installation of cable and conduit and work on a customer network
  • Training of the end-user
  • Inspection of existing systems

 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED
  • Post-secondary education eg: Electronic Technician Certificate or Computer Networking Courses will be valued 
  • 5+ years of experience in security access control and CCTV installation and/or service technician or similar role
  • 3+ years of experience in leading a team of technicians 
  • Must have a valid Provincial Driver’s License

 

Skills:

  • Must be computer literate in Office Suite
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English - written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure are essential
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tools
  • The ability to meet deadlines and commitments and to adjust/adapt to new ideas and procedures is necessary
