Description

The Inpatient Unit Supervisor is responsible for ensuring care and staff related outcomes are met in their area of responsibility. Ensures compliance with internal and external policies, regulations, and accreditations for area of supervision. Weekend unit supervisor is responsible for the supervision of both inpatient units. 

Schedule: Monday - Friday

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for ensuring the development, revision and implementation of each child’s care plan and for achieving the goals established by the care team, child and family (outcomes).

  • Responsible for ensuring clinical care is implemented according to best practices as defined by ChildServe policy and practice manuals.

  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring unit-specific quality improvement activities and initiatives.

  • Ensures adequate availability of qualified staffed and that individual performance is consistently evaluated.

  •  Effectively managers and resolves stakeholder concerns.

  •  Responsible for effective communication that establishes and maintains positive relationships. May provide on-call back up support to the medical group homes.

  •  Leadership – Supervise the team through effective hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. Ensure development of staff to achieve high results. Promote engagement and satisfaction to drive retention. Collaborate with management team to identify opportunities for improvement.

What You'll Need

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and licensed to practice as a LPN or RN in the State of Iowa, BSN preferred.
  • 5 years of nursing experience in pediatrics, rehabilitation and/or with children with complex medical conditions preferred. Specialty nursing certifications preferred (CPN, CBIS, CRRN).

  • Documentation of current CPR/BLS certification

  •  Computer skills including Microsoft Office, and ability to proficiently learn new software programs. 

  •  Ability to work independently with basic verbal and written instructional guidance from others.

  •  Maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.

  •  Demonstrate proficient organizational and time management skills with developed problem solving skills and decision-making, and ability to prioritize multiple demands.

  •  Ability to work effectively, accurately, and efficiently under multiple demands and frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.

  • This position is subject to COVID-19 safety requirements.
