Internship -Master's Social Work or Mental Health Counseling- Clinical Concentration

We have an exciting opportunity for a Master's level Social Work or Mental Health Counseling student to intern at ChildServe!
What You'll Do
- Research topics of interest for families/patients and staff.
- Use research to maintain parent handouts and develop presentations.
- Observe assessment and therapeutic sessions within mental health to identify treatment providers for psychological disorders and the training required for each.
- Present cases orally and in writing.
- Conduct comprehensive assessment interviews with supervision.
- Conduct individual, family and group therapy with supervision.
- Other clinical and social work related tasks as agreed.
What You'll Need
- Enrollment in a Master’s of Social Work or Mental Health Counseling program
- Ability to work independently with basic verbal and written instructional guidance from others.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
- Must exercise confidentiality regarding the affairs of clients, staff, their families, and Child
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, and ability to proficiently learn new software programs.
- Ability to interpret and follow applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Ability to communicate in English effectively for understanding, in writing and verbally.
- Understanding of counseling skills such as active listening, reflecting and summarizing and desire to learn and strengthen.
- Experience managing both remote and in person tasks and communication effectively.

Schedule/Time Frame
- Schedule negotiable; afternoon/early evening availability ideal
- Time frame negotiable, one semester to one academic year
This internship is an unpaid opportunity. The role can be offered to those applicants seeking course credit and/or specific college internship requirements.
