Chief Agri is seeking a Sales Manager for US and Canada. This position is an integral role on Chief Agri’s Senior Management Team and will be headquartered in our Kearney, Nebraska office. This role will manage all aspects of sales for the US and Canada.  The successful candidate will be a highly skilled visionary leader with the ability to adapt to and challenge others based on industry advancements

Job Responsibilities:

  • To maintain an adequate field sales team; to obtain maximum sales volume; to hire and train all personnel in the domestic sales group; to communicate industry and marketing data from customers and competitive conditions in the field; to prepare and update sales forecasts; to prepare and implement marketing and merchandising programs; and to participate in industry activities that further the goals of the company.
  • To develop, recommend, and implement policies and programs related to; size and type of sales team, product lines, distribution channels and programs, prices, sales objectives by product and geographical area, compensation levels for departmental personnel; personnel development and advancement; sales and service department budgets; advertising and sales promotion activities; new product development and improvement of current product offerings; credit policies; warehouse and deliveries from distribution centers.
  • To assign sales objectives to territories, evaluate performance in their attainment, and take necessary steps to bring results in line with objectives.  To prepare and interpret reports on sales and markets, including the comparison of sales forecasts with actual sales and quote activity. To monitor discounts and terms offered by sales team. To manage warranty claims and allowances for returned goods.
  • To travel in the field, calling on present and prospective customers in conjunction with the appropriate field representative for the purpose of assisting them grow the business.  Anticipate travel to be 35% or less. To approve departmental travel and selling expenses, review related monthly reports, and institute remedial action when policies are violated.

 

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Sales and Marketing or Business Management focus strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in Sales or Marketing required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, ERP systems, and quote programs required.
  • Proven experience managing, hiring, and leading an external sales team would be ideal.
  • Knowledge of Agricultural products preferred.
  • Experience working with a dealer network desired.
