Maintenance Mechanic
Description
Chief Buildings is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join the Chief team. This position performs preventative and corrective maintenance on facility infrastructure and industrial equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Carries out responsibilities with safety and efficiency as a priority. Prioritizes the well-being of colleagues and actively contributes to the safety program by collaborating, sharing ideas, and voicing concerns. Adheres to training guidelines, policies, and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Proactively identifies and addresses potential hazards.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
- Install and modify equipment and perform preventative and general maintenance including electrical conduit systems and wiring infrastructure.
- Accurately reads equipment manuals and drawings to make equipment repairs and adjustments.
- Ability to use basic electrical and mechanical industrial maintenance tools.
- Manage parts and supply requisitions and completes documentation in computerized maintenance management system.
- Demonstrate strong time management, effective communication, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment, including aerial equipment, and work from heights.
- Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently transport materials as required.
- Capable of working independently or as a team with minimum supervision.
Education:
- High School Diploma, or GED preferred.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- Proficient in mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and foundational electrical knowledge.
- Exceptional troubleshooting abilities.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Basic welding experience is a plus, though not mandatory.
- Prior experience in a Maintenance Mechanic role or a comparable position.
- Competent in basic computer usage, coupled with strong math skills and the ability to write detailed reports.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for creating a collaborative, safe and hazard-free environment that is driven by employee involvement. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to leading departmental continuous improvement projects, supporting and executing all safety and health policies and programs, employee training and incident investigations.
