Director of Project Management
Description
Chief Construction is seeking a Director of Project Management to join the Chief Team. This position will be responsible for leading and overseeing the entire project management function within Chief Construction. This role ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while meeting the highest quality and safety standards. The Director provides strategic direction, manages resources, develops project management best practices, and mentors project managers to drive operational excellence and client satisfaction.
· Monitor project schedule, budget performance, and implement recovery actions as needed.
· Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to the President/GM.
· Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Participate in business development activities and networking events, including after-hours functions.
· Provide oversight of preliminary, hard bid, and GMP estimates while working closely with estimators and preconstruction managers.
· Effectively lead team interviews with the stakeholders of potential projects.
· Coordinates major project decisions with the President/GM.
· Strategizes and coordinates projects with the Field Operations Manager.
· Work closely with the Controller and Accountants supporting financial reporting, invoicing, and ensuring that budget forecasts are updated.
· Serve as Project Executive for complex and high-profile projects, providing strategic oversight and ensuring successful delivery.
· Negotiate contracts.
· Monitor our construction software to ensure that our systems are relevant and innovative.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
· Develop and execute the project management department’s strategic goals in alignment with company objectives.
· Oversee, train, mentor, and evaluate Sr Project Managers, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators.
· Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to corporate decision-making and long-term planning.
